This week we got the official announcement and trailer for Destiny 2, after the leak last week that we covered in our last episode. The trailer also announced that the DLC for Destiny 2 will be PS4 exclusive for the last year, which sparked a large conversation on game exclusivity and the ethics involved. Blizzard announced the upcoming release of StarCraft: Remastered. If you can’t wait until then (we can’t), they have offered the original game for free via a link below.

What’s Inside

  • Destiny 2 Announced: Bungie officially announced Destiny 2 this week, set to come out in September, with a 2 minute cinematic trailer/teaser. In the trailer they showed some of the story(?) showing that earth is now under attack and you will be set to defend it. Along with this the tower has been destroyed, along with all of your stuff, so it seems to have some reboot aspects to it. There are a good amount of inside jokes and witty lines in the trailer that should appeal to veteran Destiny players.
  • Game Exclusivity: The Destiny 2 trailer also announced that all DLC will be exclusive to the PS4 for *at least* the first year with two pieces of content already planned. We have seen a shift in game exclusivity lately to this timed exclusive model, with another big example being Rise of The Tomb Raider. Should game exclusivity, especial樂威壯
ly timed, still be a thing? Is it to the point that it is just simply anti-consumer and punishing fans?
  • StarCraft: Remastered: This week Blizzard announced the upcoming release of StarCraft: Remastered. It is set to come out Summer 2017, with no specific date yet. It will be a fully remastered version, capble of 4K at 60 FPS. Along with upgraded graphics, they will be redoing sounds/music and dialog. Along with this, it will be a part of Battle.net and have all of the multiplayer capabilities that veteran StarCraft players love. Unexpectedly, they are also offering the original game for free right now via a download on Starcraft.com.
